A camel hairbrush is a type of brush with soft fur made of natural hair, usually a squirrel. Camel hair is not a suitable material, although historical camels are used for ancient Chinese ink brush (and for camel hair fabrics). This is a brush that is widely used in art, but is considered inferior to a more expensive horse and ox brush. In some niche applications, such as pinstriping, camel hair is the ideal brush. Camel hair brushes have many uses outside the art, especially dust where a soft brush is required for fine objects or skin.

Construction and properties
The hair of a camel hair brush is traditionally made of squirrel hair and this is still the most common ingredient. They can also be made from goats, cattle or horses or a mixture of all this. They were never made of camel hair, either in whole or in part.
Camel hair brush is a soft brush. They are a much cheaper alternative to the expensive sable kolinsky hair brush (red sable), which is considered the best brush for watercolor painting. However, they are inferior because they lack the flexibility and natural point of the red sable.
The cheaper camel-feather brushes, such as those supplied to school, are usually mass-produced from horse hair cut from the mane. Pony is used because long hair manes can be cut by the machine to make many brushes simultaneously. However, cutting edge is not so good to reach the point as a natural tip.

History
There are often repeated urban legends that camel-hair brushes are so named because they were created by "Mr. Camel". This is almost certainly not true. This person, or his company, was never identified. This story is very old, at least as far back as 1922 when mentioned in Marvels of the Animal World . An alternative explanation that brushes are actually made of camel's hair is true, but this would be a very different brush and would not be considered a camel hair brush in modern terminology. Hairy camel hair, making it unsuitable for the use of camel hair brushes.
In 250 BC, China's General Meng Tian found an inkbrush. Meng Tian is probably better known for overseeing the construction of the Great Wall of China. Meng Tian brush is made up of genuine camel hair, or sometimes rabbit hair, tied to a wooden handle with a thread. This brush is a big step forward in writing. Writing becomes easier and calligraphy spread in China creates the need for less expensive and more expensive media to write. It came in 105 AD with the invention of paper which in turn paved the way for the invention of printing.

Camel bristle can be used for watercolor painting but not the best choice. They are poor where good points are required, and do not hold their shape well when in contact with water. They, however, are good for large flat brush when large area is being painted.
The camel hairbrush is used in handwriting. They have problems with watercolors as already stated. They also do not perform well with heavy paint, especially white lead-based paint that was previously widely used. The weight of the paint tends to make the brush collapse.
Pinstriping is a thin decorative line app for an object. It can range from simple coachlines on the side of a motorized car, to elaborate furniture decorations. Pinstriping brushes are traditionally camel hair brushes. These are sometimes called striped pencils and small brushes with very long feathers. The idea of ââlength is to hold the larger number of paint so that very long lines can be painted with one scratch. Pinstriper initially makes its own brush (and sometimes still) of the larger camel hair brush hair, but a special brush is now available. One of the earliest brushes was designed by Andrew Mack in 1891, stripper for J.J. The wagon and buggy company in Jonesville, Michigan. Mack is not satisfied with the brush provided by the Deal company and make it himself. It became very popular with other pinstripers across the country so he left the Agreement to establish his own company, Mack Brush Company, which still makes striped brushes in Michigan.
Woodworking has many uses for camel hair brush. Like watercolouring, a good job is better done with a sable brush, but camel hair can be used to apply finishing. Camel hair is also less effective at working into corners or lines due to poor point (or tip) at the tip.
