In architecture, the pedestal (also called insertion board , skirting , mopboard , molding floor , or basic printing ) are usually wooden or vinyl boards that cover the lowest part of the interior wall. The goal is to cover the connection between the wall and floor surfaces. It includes an uneven edge of the floor next to the wall; protect the walls from kicks, abrasion, and furniture; and can serve as decorative prints.
Basically, the pedestal consists of a simple board nailed, screwed or attached to a wall; However, especially in older homes, it can consist of a number of molds for decoration. Alas pole is different from wainscot; a wainscot usually covers from the floor to about 1-1.5m high (waist or chest height), whereas the pedestal is usually below 0.2 m high (ankle height).

Wooden poles may be available in untreated, varnished or prepainted versions. Prepainted baseboards can be made from single piece or finger jointed wood, often softwood, whereas hardwood is either varnished, or crude for staining and made from a single piece of wood.
Radiators are sometimes installed inside or in front of the baseboard (radiator pedestal). This radiator relies on hot water as a heat source. Electric heating is also used in this way.

The base board/gliding board generally has a distinctive variation depending on the country. For example, in China, bases are usually very low, made of plastic or redwood, and have very simple or unmade designs. In contrast, in the UK there are a large number of profiles available. These profiles are often named after the period when they were developed, such as Victorian or Edwardian.
