Award Category

A total of six awards are given to six puja pandals. When Sharad Shamman started in 1985 only three awards were given to the three Best Puja pandas. From 1994, a special award called "Discovery of the Year" was introduced in honor of a wholly unknown pandal for its excellence. These 4 categories continue for the next six years. But in 2000, Cat Asia felt that the award was too similar, there was no limit to identifying the Best Decorating of the Pandal or the Best Idol. Therefore, in 2000 two new categories were introduced - "Creative Excellence", which focused on the Best Dressed Pandal, and "Best Artist", awarded to Best Idol artist. Currently these six categories represent the Asian Cat Sharad Shamman. Some parameters for the giving of pandals include the overall beauty and grandeur of the pandal based on the chosen theme, the beauty of the Durga protocol, how well the sanctum of the protima has been shown, and the proficiency in the work done on the pandal.

Best Best Puja (Shrestho Pujo)

Usually the winners in this category used to be the famous Pujas, but today many unknown Pujas have been cut with technical excellence for this award bag. Currently, Durga Pujas in Kolkata is more oriented theme . Some specific themes like Madhubani art or ground cups or a place like Kerala, will be the basis for decoration. In 2001, "Bosepukur Sitalamandir" decorated the pandal completely from the ground cup and was so popular that it won the Best Puja award down. Already many Pujas who have won this award many times. "Adi Ballygunge" leads the list with five wins.
