Wynn Las Vegas , often referred to as Wynn , is a luxury resort and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The $ 2.7 billion resort is named after casino developer Steve Wynn and is the flagship property of Wynn Resorts. The resort covers 215 hectares (87 ha). Located on the northeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sands Avenue, directly opposite The Strip of the Fashion Show Mall.
The 614-foot (187 m) - tall hotel has 45 floors, with 2,716 rooms ranging from 640Ã, sqÃ, ft (59Ã, m 2 ) to villas at 8.900Ã, sqÃ, ft (830Ã , M 2 ). The complex also includes a casino of 189,000 square feet (17,600 m 2 ), a convention center with 290,000 sq ft (27,000m 2 ) space and 76,000 sqÃ, ft (7,100Ã, m 2 ) retail space. Together with the adjacent Encore, the entire Wynn resort complex has a total of 4,750 rooms, making it the seventh largest hotel in the world.
The Wynn Plaza shopping complex, the huge expansion of Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas, is expected to open in autumn 2018. This shopping complex moves the Wynn property closer to Las Vegas Boulevard. Tenants are expected to incorporate upscale experience. The new Wynn Paradise Park is being built on the site of a golf course adjacent to Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas. History
Steve Wynn first revealed the 45-story resort plan, 2,455 rooms, and 514 feet and a four-hectare lake in August 2001. The project has no official name and will be built on the Desert Inn website. The name of the project was revealed on October 19, 2001, as "Le RÃÆ'ªve", meaning "dream" in French.
To make way for the resort, Desert Inn's main tower exploded on October 23, 2001. The rest of the Desert Inn had exploded on November 17, 2004. The project included redesigning the historic Desert Springs golf course, which was renamed. Wynn Golf Club . The rest of the property was acquired by buying a private home that is generally located along Paradise Avenue. While some owners sell early, others survive. This resulted in many legal actions between various parties. In the end, the site acquired reached 215 acres (87 ha).
In June 2002, Steve Wynn filed an IPO to help fund the project. Wynn hired Marnell Corrao Associates to design and build the resort. Movie history
Since the end of Wynn, other resorts and hotels on the Strip have been featured on many movies and television shows based on Las Vegas.
The resort is primarily featured in the 2009 film 2012 , in which the film's main character escaped from Las Vegas that was destroyed by flying a plane similar to the Antonov An-225 between the fallen Wynn and Encore towers as they collapsed into one to another.
In addition, Encore Theater is home to BeyoncÃÆ' © sold out I... Tour, which is featured on I Am... Yours: An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas , was filmed from July 30th to 2nd August 2009.
Paul Blart's comedy action movie: Mall Cop 2 starring Kevin James is fully filmed in the casino. This is the first film ever taken on Steve Wynn's property with his permission. In contrast to previous hotels built by Wynn, including Bellagio, The Mirage and Treasure Island, Encore Esplanade Fountain is a relatively quiet Las Vegas Strip attraction to attract passersby. Le RÃÆ'ªve
The first production show that opened was Le RÃÆ'ªve . Le RÃÆ'ªve is set in a 1 million gallon water theater in which no seating is more than 40 feet (12 m) from the stage. Production made by Franco Dragone.
Le RÃÆ'ªve is the work name of the resort before being changed to Wynn Las Vegas. "Le RÃÆ'ªve" means "The Dream" in French, and the main painting name owned by Steve Wynn, Le RÃÆ'ªve by Picasso.
Recently, Wynn Las Vegas purchased the rights to the show from Dragone to make some changes, including the logo. Wynn now has all the rights to the show.
Q Road
Avenue Q , Tony's award-winning doll and folk musicals enjoying great success on Broadway, is the second production show to open at Wynn. It debuted on September 8, 2005, at 1,200 seats at the Broadway Theater and closed on May 28, 2006.
Monty Python spamalot
Spamalot, Tony's comedy-winning comedy based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, opened for preview on March 8, 2007 at the Grail Theater (formerly The Broadway Theater). The official run began on March 31, 2007, and starred John O'Hurley as King Arthur until 26 September 2007. The event closed on 13 July 2008.
Danny Gans
On April 17, 2008, Wynn Resorts announced that Mirage headliner Danny Gans would move to the resort in February 2009. Gans moved to the theater previously used by both Avenue Q and Spamalot , which was renamed Encore Theater and was marketed as part of the Encore expansion. Gans performed there until his death on May 1, 2009.
