Georgina de Albuquerque (February 4, 1885 - August 29, 1962) is a Brazilian Impressionist painter and teacher. He is known for his interest in the subject of women. Her husband LucÃÆ'lio is a famous painter in himself and both are deeply linked to each other.

De Albuquerque was born Georgina de Moura Andrade on February 4, 1885, at TaubatÃÆ'à ©, SÃÆ'à £ Paulo. He began his studies in painting at the age of 15 in 1900 in TaubatÃÆ' à © rinya himself. He was mentored in his own home by Italian painter Rosalbino Santoro, who taught him basic painting principles, such as perspective law and paint blending techniques.

Training
He moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1904 at the age of 19, where he enrolled at Escola Nacional de Belas Artes (School of Fine Arts), studying under the guidance of Henrique Bernardelli.
Georgina moved to Paris in 1906, after marrying the painter LucÃÆ'lio de Albuquerque. In Paris he attended the ÃÆ' â ⬠° cole Nationale SupÃÆ'à © rieure des Beaux-Arts and AcadÃÆ' à © Julian noodles, where he was a student of Henri Royer.
Careers
In 1911, Georgina returned to Brazil and exhibited her work at SÃÆ'à £ Paulo. Since then he has participated regularly in the Fine Arts Exhibition.
In 1927, Georgina became professor at Escola Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, where she taught artistic design. In 1935 he began teaching a decorative arts course at the University of the Federal District's Art Institute.
In 1940 he founded Museu LucÃÆ'lio de Albuquerque in his home in the Laranjeiras neighborhood. She set up a pioneering course in drawing and painting for children.
Between 1952 and 1954 he held the position of Director at Escola Nacional de Belas Artes.
Death
Georgina de Albuquerque died on August 29, 1962, in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 77.
